Founded in 1996 and headquartered near Seattle, Washington, IQ Chart is a
leading provider of stock charting software to individual investors and
technical analysts.
The first version of IQ Chart (originally called IQ Suite) was developed as
a way for technical-oriented traders to capitalize on the market data readily
becoming available over the Internet. The software application was an early adopter
of the Java programming language, winning a JFOX award from Sun Microsystems for
excellence in software development.
IQ Chart was a quick success, building a subscriber base of thousands of traders and investors
in just a few short years. In 1998, IQ Chart added several key features including a
sophisticated stock screening tool and real-time data.
In 1999, IQ Chart was acquired by a technology and services company, which used its
charting technology to power numerous financial sites on the Web. IQ Chart introduced
private-labeled versions of its software, collaborating with brokerages, advisory
services and financial newsletters to provide custom versions of the application
tailored to meet the needs of their customers.
In 2003, the original founders of IQ Chart, together with a team of software
engineers and experienced leadership, acquired the business. As an
independent company, IQ Chart's goal is to evolve the core software
application and focus on arming traders and investors with the best
technical analysis charts and tools available anywhere to take advantage of
the numerous opportunities available in today's financial marketplace.
