Tracker
Attention WINDOWS and MAC users:
In Windows, you can edit or add individual stocks in a portfolio by double-clicking or right-clicking on the grid.
Mac users can only perform these functions with a double-click on the grid.
The tracker is designed for creating and managing portfolios. You may create up to 6 portfolios, each with a maximum of 25 stocks.
Each portfolio updates automatically during the trading day, every minute for real-time subscribers and every 5 minutes
for delayed subscribers.
Each portfolio is in a spreadsheet format and includes the ticker symbol, last trading price, net change,
net change percent, current (or most recent) trading volume, stock value, profit/lost today, profit/lost,
number of shares, basis, total volume, and total Profit/Lose today.
Net changes and P/L today totals are blue if positive and red if negative. Black denotes no change.
The bottom row calculates the total value of the portfolio. It includes the total value of the portfolio,
net change for the day and net change for the life of the portfolio.
To add a portfolio:
Click on the "Portfolio" Menu and select "Add". Name the portfolio at the top of the window.
Once you are finished entering the fields, click "OK" to save the portfolio.
When a new portfolio is created, a tab toward the top of the window will indicate that the portfolio is available.
You may view a particular portfolio by clicking on the designated tab.
To add/edit alerts:
By double clicking on a stock symbol, an edit window will appear. Here you can add your entry to set High and/or Low alerts.
High and Low Alerts may be selected for each symbol. If a high alert is reached during the trade day,
the number to the left of the stock symbol will be highlighted in blue. If a low alert is reached during the trade day,
the number to the right of the stock symbol will be highlighted in red. Alerts will also sound an audio alarm when they fire.
(NOTE: The tracker window must be open for the alerts to be activated.)
To edit stock information:
By double clicking on a stock symbol, an edit window will appear. Here you can edit Basis, Number of shares,
and High/Low alerts. Setting the number of shares to a negative number will handle profitability correctly
for short positions.
To delete portfolios:
Click on the Portfolio menu and select "Delete". A window will appear asking if you would like to delete the portfolio
you have highlighted. Click "Yes" to delete the portfolio. Click "No" to avoid deleting the portfolio.
To activate alerts: Click on the File menu, and select "Preferences". A window will appear with the option to
turn on or off the alerts.
To sort columns by:
At the top of the portfolio spreadsheet, each column is titled (Symbol, Last, Net, etc.). Clicking on any of these
titles allows you to sort alphabetically, highest to lowest or vise-verse depending on your preference at the moment.
To view a chart:
Click on the "C" image on any row to view the chart of that ticker symbol in the main chart window.
