IQ Chart Functions and Features
Chart Four different types of charts are available through IQ Chart: Line, Bar, OHLC Bar & Candlestick . Each offers a different way of presenting the price of a stock over time. Bar - In a bar chart , each individual bar consist of a vertical line and a horizontal line extending to the right from a point on the vertical line. The top and bottom of the vertical line are the high and low prices of the stock during that time period. The horizontal line is the closing price of the stock during that time period. OHLC - An OHLC Bar adds the opening and closing prices to each individual bar. The opening price of each period is a line extending to the left from a point on the vertical line. The closing price of each period is a line extending to the left from a point on the vertical line. Candlestick - A candlestick has two parts, the "body" and the "tails". If the body is filled in, the stock price has gone down during that time period, as the top of body is the open price and the bottom of the body is the close. If the body is not filled in, the stock price has gone up during that time period, as the bottom of the body is the open and the top of the body is the close. If the stock price did not change, a horizontal line will represent the body. Line Chart - A line chart connects the closing prices of each period over time. Multiple Overlays - To show multiple overlays simultaneously, you must check "Multiple Overlays" in the Chart menu. If "Multiple Overlays" is unchecked, then only one overlay will be shown at a time. Selecting an overlay will replace the one currently in use. Chart - Employ any or all of these price bar Overlays found under the Chart menu.
