IQ Chart Functions and Features

Indicators

Technical indicators are mathematical studies that use market data, such as volume and price, to judge and/or anticipate the price behavior of a security. Some indicators, like moving averages, are overlaid on the chart itself. Others, like those discussed in this section, are placed above the chart. The value of the technical indicator is given on the vertical axis, and the horizontal axis denotes the time (which corresponds to the chart.)

You can access all indicator studies placed above the chart by clicking on the Indicators menu. Up to four technical indicators can be shown at once. The indicator added most recently is placed below the others. When the Indicators menu is open, a checkmark denotes that an indicator is being used. To check or uncheck an indicator, select it from the menu by clicking on your left mouse button.

  1. Multiple Indicators - To show multiple indicators simultaneously, you must check "Multiple Indicators" in the Indicators menu. If "Multiple Indicators" is unchecked, then only one indicator will be shown at a time. Selecting an indicator will replace the one currently in use.
